Frequently Asked Questions
1. Do I need any experience to take a class?
No experience needed! Our classes are beginner-friendly and open to all skill levels. Whether it’s your first time at the wheel or you're brushing up on old skills, we’ll guide you every step of the way.
2. What should I wear?
Pottery is a hands-on, sometimes messy experience. We recommend wearing comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting a bit muddy. Aprons are provided, but clay can still splash—avoid wearing anything delicate.
3. Will I be able to take my pottery home the same day?
No—your pieces need time to fully dry and go through two kiln firings (bisque and glaze). This process usually takes 3–5 weeks. We’ll notify you by email or text when your pottery is ready for pickup.
4. How many pieces do I get to keep?
In most of our wheel classes, you’ll have time to create one piece per person. Additional items can be glazed and fired for a small fee.
5. Can I book a private group or party?
Absolutely! We offer custom small group classes for parties of 2 - 6. If your group is larger than 6, please reach out to us via email and we will work to accommodate.
6. What happens if I can’t make it to class?
We understand life happens! Most classes allow rescheduling with at least 24 hours notice.
7. Is there an age limit for classes?
Most wheel classes are best suited for ages 13 and up due to equipment size and strength requirements. We also offer kid-friendly hand-building workshops—check our calendar for family sessions!
8. What types of clay and glazes do you use?
We use high-quality, mid-fire stoneware clay and food-safe glazes. You'll get a selection of glaze colors to choose from after your class.
9. How long will you hold finished pottery?
We hold finished work for 30 days after you’re notified it’s ready. Be sure to pick it up before then, as we have limited space and can’t guarantee storage beyond that window.
10. Can friends or family come to watch the class?
Yes, spectators are welcome to quietly observe as long as space allows. We just ask that they remain in designated areas and avoid interrupting the flow of the class. If they decide they’d like to join in, we’re always happy to help them book a spot for a future session!
11. Can we bring our own food and drinks?
We do not allow any alcoholic beverages in the mudroom. Any snacks and non-alcoholic beverages must be consumed before or after pottery session.
